Der Mensch in der Maschine is a trilogy about the iconic, modernist, place Slussen in Stockholm and the nearly one million people passing through its machinery everyday. The concrete and iron construction from 1935 is in bad shape and will be torn down to make way for a new, much debated, design.
The pictures in this first part of the trilogy portray the place and the people before the re-construction, part two will document the re-construction and the final part will be about the new Slussen that is planned to be inaugurated in 2018.
